MyDegreePlan

Changelog

Windows app

v0.3.0 · October 13, 2026

You can now add a secondary major or a minor to your plan. Settings has a Your major(s) section: change your major, add or remove majors, and make any of them your primary major. Courses your majors share appear once and count toward each. The plan, requirements and PDFs name every program, and a what-if in Settings shows what adding one would do to your finish. The program picker is one screen per step, Biology and Chemistry are open, and the math sequence screen is gone.

v0.2.0 · October 13, 2026

Biology and Chemistry, with their concentrations, are now open in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Requirements tab is open: it shows every requirement of your degree program, what counts toward each, and the earliest you could finish, and Advisement can now print a Degree audit PDF beside the Degree map. Choosing your degree program is now one step at a time (college, major, concentration), and the math sequence screen is gone: your math placement still comes from your scores. Fixes: a high ACT or SAT math score no longer flags a lower math course in your plan as missing a prerequisite, and a course that needs one of two courses no longer shows as out of order while that choice is still open.

v0.1.4 · October 13, 2026

Drag and drop is turned off on phones, so scrolling the plan no longer moves courses by accident. A new Requirements tab is on its way; it shows as "Coming soon" for now.

v0.1.3 · October 9, 2026

Settings now says "Change degree program" instead of "Change concentration". Wording now matches where your plan is stored, so a desktop or Docker install no longer says "this browser". Every semester lists its courses in the same order: by subject, then course number. The app is called MyDegreePlan throughout.

v0.1.2 · October 9, 2026

Fixes the degree map preview on the Advisement tab, which showed a blank box. The preview now shows your plan as a PDF with zoom, page navigation, download and print. Your plan is kept.

v0.1.1 · October 9, 2026

New MyDegreePlan app icon for the installer, the app and the Start menu. The page icon in your browser tab is updated too. Your plan is kept.

v0.1.0 · October 9, 2026

First release of the MyDegreePlan Windows app. It installs for your account only, needs no Docker, and keeps your plan on your computer. Windows may warn that the installer is not code-signed yet: choose More info, then Run anyway.

v0.7.1 · October 9, 2026

Settings now says "Change degree program" instead of "Change concentration". Wording now matches where your plan is stored, so a desktop or Docker install no longer says "this browser". v0.7.0 · October 8, 2026

You can now export, import and erase your plan from Settings, and import a backup when you first set up. Use it to move your plan between the web version and this install.

v0.6.1 · October 8, 2026

Semesters that are over now count as passed, and nothing needs to be marked complete. The Mark complete button and the per-course status buttons are gone: courses in past semesters show as passed, the current semester as in progress, and later ones as planned. If you did not pass a course, move it to a later semester to retake it, or remove it. If you started in a past semester you will see the earlier semesters shown as done; choose the courses you took for any slots still open there. Undo now survives closing the app or reloading the page, for up to 30 days. It starts fresh after you erase or import your data.

v0.6.0 · October 8, 2026

Setup now asks only for your first semester at Tennessee Tech, year first, and closed programs can be hidden again. AP Calculus AB: a 4 or 5 now earns MATH 1910 only, as the Tennessee Tech table says. It used to add MATH 1830 as well. If you already added it, remove the extra MATH 1830 under Prior coursework. AP scores read 3, 4+ and 5, and the plan shows the score you picked. AP Biology and Physics C ask which course you want credit for when your plan accepts either, and pick it for you when your plan needs one. Prior coursework is easier to read and counts a course once when two exams or the ACT award it. A move that breaks a prerequisite can go ahead with Move anyway; the Issues tab keeps flagging it. The heavy course load warning now starts above 20 hours, the Tennessee Tech limit.

v0.5.2 · October 7, 2026

Fixes false prerequisite warnings in the standard Mechanical Engineering plan: Senior Design II no longer shows a blocker, and ME 4420 now follows the department maps.

v0.5.1 · October 5, 2026

Mechanical Engineering: the elective choices now match the catalog Area of Emphasis list (ME courses, approved math courses, and a few engineering and business courses). The picker now enforces the catalog limits: at least 9 of the 15 hours from ME courses, and at most 3 hours of business and general-engineering courses. Courses the catalog list does not include are no longer offered; other courses can count with an advisor approval.

v0.5.0 · October 5, 2026

New: Mechanical Engineering (with the Aerospace, Mechatronics & Robotics and Vehicle Engineering concentrations) can now be chosen. It follows the department 2026-27 degree map; a few elective and course-order details are still being confirmed with the department. You can now enter transfer credit in the prior-credit wizard, and the transfer course search shows its results properly. Course search accepts codes with a space, such as MATH 1910. The degree map PDF now prints your own degree, major and catalog year. Math placement for engineering plans no longer drops Calculus II or places upper-level courses too early.

v0.4.0 · October 3, 2026

Every Tennessee Tech major now has a degree plan: more than 160 new programs across Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and Human Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture and Human Ecology, Emerging and Integrative Studies, Fine Arts and Nursing. Pick your college, then your major and concentration. If you started before 2026-27, a plan for a newer catalog is marked as approximate: confirm it with your advisor. The Accelerated B.S.N. is not included yet.

v0.3.0 · October 2, 2026

New: Mechanical Engineering (with the Aerospace, Mechatronics & Robotics and Vehicle Engineering concentrations) and Nuclear Engineering, built from the College of Engineering's 2026-27 degree maps for students starting in 2026-27 or later. Engineering elective lists are still being confirmed with the department. Also: PHYS 2110 and 2120 now count 4 hours, and PHYS 2110 can be taken in the same semester as MATH 1920, matching the engineering and Computer Science degree maps.

v0.2.0 · October 2, 2026

New degree maps for 2026-2027: Computer Science (Core, Cybersecurity and High Performance Computing) and the new Artificial Intelligence major. New students start from the department's recommended semester-by-semester plan. The full Tennessee Tech course catalog is now searchable, with separate Undergraduate, Graduate and Placeholder tabs, and a choice of credit hours for variable-credit courses. Math placement follows the 2026-2027 ACT/SAT table and test scores are optional. CSC 4620 replaces CSC 4615. Your saved plan is kept.

v0.1.6 · October 1, 2026

Fixes Free Elective: when you pick a course worth fewer hours than the slot (for example a 3-hour class in the 8-hour Free Elective), the remaining hours now show up as another "Choose a course" row instead of disappearing from your plan. Keep picking until the hours are covered; your semester and degree totals now include them.

v0.1.5 · September 30, 2026

Fixes the Flight Foundations plan: Humanities now has two slots (English Literature is part of Humanities), and the requirement shows as 6 hours.

Download MyDegreePlan-0.1.5.zip (23 KB)

v0.1.4 · September 30, 2026

Adds Tennessee Tech's new Flight Foundations general education program for students starting Fall 2026 or later (Core, Cybersecurity and High Performance Computing). Your plan now shows Flight Foundations requirements, and AP/IB/CLEP credit is applied to them automatically. Students who started earlier keep their current plan and general education requirements.

v0.1.3 · September 30, 2026

Easier to reopen: MyDegreePlan now adds a Desktop shortcut on Windows and starts Docker Desktop for you if it isn't running. Fixed the Mac/Linux launcher so it no longer errors after starting.
